Clinical Pastoral Education
About the CPE Program
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at CHRISTUS Health is a clinical ministry education program that allows students to learn by experience in a clinical setting while working under the supervision of a qualified CPE Certified Educator.
The primary educational purpose of CPE is:
- Develop, enhance, and integrate a minister’s personal identity and spiritual care functioning
- Develop and cultivate a variety of interpersonal and academic skills related to the provision of spiritual care in a variety of clinical settings
- Develop increased effectiveness in the provision of spiritual care
